Short Bio:
Hayk Kamalyan has received his Ph.D. degree in Economics from Goethe University Frankfurt. Before that, he held an economist position with the Central Bank of Armenia. Dr. Kamalyan joined the AUA as full-time faculty in 2020. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor/Scholar in Residence at the Manoogian Simone College of Business and Economics and a Teaching Fellow at CERGE-EI Prague. His research interest is in Macroeconomics, primarily in the fields of Monetary Economics and International Macroeconomics. His ongoing research projects include, among others, studying the effects of macroeconomic uncertainty in emerging economies and possible asymmetries in the propagation of macroeconomic shocks over the business cycle.
