Short Bio:
Irshat Madyarov, Ph.D. is Associate professor and Program Chair in TEFL, and Director at the Center for Research in Applied Linguistics, American University of Armenia, where he has also chaired and served in administrative positions such as Faculty Senate, Academic Program Review Committees, and IRB. Previously, he worked at the University of South Florida and West Virginia University (USA), teaching ESL courses, ESL/ESOL teacher education courses, and coordinating instructional technology and academic curriculum units at an English Language Institute. Currently, he teaches and conducts research in areas such educational technology with specific strengths in mobile learning and natural language processing, curriculum design, teacher education, leadership. He has published and presented over 20 projects in international venues, and received grants of around $100,000. He's also a startup founder where he builds a mobile app - Spok - a speaking partner for English-language learners. He holds a Ph.D in Second Language Acquisition and Instructional Technology from the University of South Florida.
