Short Bio:
Sargis teaches Computer-Aided Design and Manufacturing courses at the Akian College of Science and Engineering. He supervised the CAD/CAM laboratory at AUA (now - the Prototyping Laboratory of CSE) for more than 20 years. From 2012 to 2019, he served as a Program Chair of the Industrial Engineering and Systems Management (IESM) program. Before joining AUA, Sargis worked as a design engineer in R&D companies, led a group of engineers. Sargis collaborated with Florida State University (2010 - 2011), and Harvard Medical School (2016-2019) in different R&D projects involving 12 students of the CSE. He has BS in Mechanical Engineering and MS in Industrial Engineering from National Polytechnic University of Armenia and American University of Armenia correspondingly. Before joining AUA he worked as a mechanical engineer in different research and production companies in Armenia taking part in the design of machine tools and products of military purpose, and leading a team of designers.
