Short Bio:

Patrick Azadian is a higher education and marketing specialist with nine years of experience in college strategic planning, retention, accreditation, admissions, recruitment, community outreach and financial aid, as well as twenty-seven years of experience in branding advertising, e-commerce marketing, and graphic design. Azadian has also been a columnist and a contributing writer to a variety of publications.

After finishing ninth grade at the AGBU Armenian Secondary School in Tehran, Azadian settled in the United States with his family in 1977, a year before the Islamic Revolution of Iran, an event that would alter the fabric of his family life. He graduated from Hiram W. Johnson High School in Sacramento, California in 1980.

Azadian studied Physics at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and later, Industrial Engineering at the University of Southern California (USC). He left his studies a year early to pursue a career in graphic design and branding.

He co-founded the design and branding studio, Praxis Group, in West Los Angeles, California and served a variety of clients in the fashion and beauty industries for over two decades.

Azadian returned to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1996, and earned his Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Sociology in 1999.

Azadian was hired at Mt. Sierra College as the Director of Marketing in 2006. In 2008, he was promoted to Director of Admissions, Returning Students, and Marketing. In January of 2014, he was given the Deputy Campus Director’s title while retaining his position as the Director of Admissions, Returning Students, and Marketing. Azadian was responsible for the overall budgeting and strategic planning of the recruitment, admissions, and marketing departments as well as professional staff development that included hiring, supervising, training, mentoring, and conducting performance evaluations.

While working at Mt. Sierra College, Azadian earned his Masters of Science Degree in Higher Education with concentrations in Administration, Leadership, and Enrollment Management from Drexel University in Philadelphia.

Azadian was a weekly columnist at Glendale-News Press (A Los Angeles Times Publication) from 2001 to 2005. Aaron Shure, the Emmy-winning producer/writer for the television series ‘The Office’ and ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ said about Azadian’s writings in the Glendale News-Press: “He finds universal themes in local politics while untangling delicate knots of culture, race, and personal history. You can’t argue with a guy who makes Glendale interesting.” Azadian has been a contributing writer to the Asbarez Daily, Civilnet, EVN Report, and the Armenian Reporter.

Azadian fulfilled his lifelong dream of moving to Armenia in 2018, where he founded the design and branding studio, Patrik A LLC. The firm provides branding, packaging, and digital marketing services to US-based clientele.

Azadian is fluent in English, Armenian (Eastern and Western), and Persian/Farsi. He has a beginner to intermediate knowledge of Spanish and has studied Latin for a year.

Azadian’s first book, ‘Longing’ (a collection of poetry), was published in 2022.
