Short Bio:
Yevgenya Jenny Paturyan is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the American University of Armenia, where she has been teaching since 2011. In 2021 she assumed the responsibilities of the Program Chair of the newly created Bachelors of Arts in Politics and Governance. Before joining AUA, she worked at Caucasus Research Resources Centers – Armenia. She received her PhD in Political Science from Jacobs University Bremen, Germany in 2009. Her academic interests are in the sphere of civil society, volunteering, democratization of post-communist countries, and corruption. She is the author of several academic peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. Her book on Armenian Civil Society was published by Springer in 2021.
Dr Paturyan is a member of the International Society for Third Sector Research and the International Political Science Association and regularly presents her research at the corresponding conferences. She participates in various local and international research consortia.
